One of the biggest applications for M2M in healthcare is the ability to remotely monitor and track patients who have specific needs, such as Alzheimer’s cases or the elderly, who may require emergency assistance in their homes. These devices enable patients to continue to live in the community, whilst at the same time receive special care if it is required.

Within hospitals and healthcare facilities, M2M devices can be used to enable nurses to remotely monitor the status of equipment, allowing them to make vital changes within seconds of receiving the information, without the need to be physically present in the patients’ ward.
