Glossary beginning with I
IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) is the number that allows a network to identify a mobile network user. It is normally composed of fifteen digits. The first three digits represent the MCC (Mobile Country Code). The other numbers represents the MSIN (Mobile Subscription Identification Number), which refers to the number that is assigned by the Mobile Network Operator. Podsystem’s multi IMSI solution means multiple IMSIs are available on the same SIM, enabling connection to multiple independent networks.
IoT (Internet of Things) refers to the growing network of physical objects with internet connectivity, and the data communication that occurs between these objects and other internet-enabled devices and systems. Depending on the application, these devices may require a SIM card to enable them to remotely connect to mobile networks in order to transfer their data.
